Shandongs Outward FDI Amounted To USD 5.87 Billion In The First Three Quarters

  On November 2, the Department of Commerce of Shandong Province held a news briefing to introduce the province's business operations in the first three quarters.

  According to Wang Haitao, Deputy Chief of the Foreign Investment and Economic Cooperation Division of the Department of Commerce of Shandong Province, Shandong's outward FDI amounted to USD 5.87 billion in the first three quarters, a year-on-year increase of 10.5%. Among them, USD 1.51 billion was invested in countries and regions along the Belt and Road, accounting for 25.7% of the total investment. Since the beginning of this year, Shandong has deeply integrated into the joint construction of the "Belt and Road", encouraged the enterprises to establish industrial capacity cooperation in Southeast Asian countries and turned production capacity advantages into cooperation advantages; Shandong has encouraged the enterprises to participate in the construction of infrastructure projects in Saudi Arabia, Serbia and other countries. Besides, Shandong has promoted the construction of overseas economic and trade cooperation zones, and guided the enterprises to construct processing, manufacturing and business logistics parks in countries and regions along the Belt and Road.

  Wang Haitao revealed that Shandong Province would deepen international cooperation in green and low-carbon technologies, equipment, services, infrastructure, etc., encourage the enterprises to expand cross-border investment, especially the “Belt and Road” new energy and other green international industry investments, and guide international contractors to accelerate green and low-carbon transformation, and build a number of influential major infrastructure projects and clean energy projects in countries along the Belt and Road.
